    o   Core: Dragon Heartstring

    o   Length: 14”

    o   Wood: Blackthorn

Personality:

+Strong minded: You could indeed call James a natural born leader, hence his 'groupies' who trail him around like he is some sort of god. They won't stand up to him even if he does something cruel to a younger year, basically because they feel his point is just, no matter how irrational it seems. He is very set in his ideals, and it will take a lot to break him or even sway his sense of riotousness.

+Unwavering Confidence: Yes, you guessed it. James is the go-to guy when you think about a popular Jock. In no way does he believe he is above his fellow Gryffindors, but he does hold a sense of entitlement to things he wants. His thoughts being that no one in the wizard in the world, or muggle, would be alive without their family. He holds himself high above any cross comments, and finds a way to prove them wrong. He will always go out of the way to seem like the hero, but he will do anything and stoop to any means if he believes it is to protect his family.

+Accepting: Oddly, he cares an awful lot about those who do befriend him. He won't over judge them, because even he holds secrets behind the tough guy act. After he gets to know someone, and see what they have been though, he will usually open up and feel more protective over them as if they are his family too.

+Dauntless: Yes, he is strong, and has an over sense of justice to the world. He wishes to follow in his father's footsteps as a 'hero,' yet wants to remain under the path his mother followed for a future career, despite his father's persistence that he would make a strong auror. He wants to be the strong one who carries a team to glory, hence his choice of trying to become a professional Chaser.

+Truthful: It would be rare to hear a lie leave James' lips, oddly enough. Despite his stronger nature, and twisted habit of besting anyone he can, he wouldn't care to lie. He never had a reason to. The only thing he could even lie about is how he feels, doing this to people. Acting cruel to people he actually wouldn't mind getting to know had it not been for a reputation to uphold.

-Self loathing: Despite his outward appearance of being the tough guy, James actually curses himself inside much of the time as he sits awake most nights staring out off the astronomy tower. He knows much of the things he chooses to do are out of line, and half the time, he would prefer to be the kind Hufflepuff other than the courageous Gryffindor. He does the things he chooses to, in an attempt to live up to the family name and not let their work be forgotten, or their struggle for many years to come. Much of the time, he finds himself feeling like the bad guy despite this. It tears him up inside to think his grandparents will look down on him and think of him as a failure, where his father and mother did wonders and protected those who needed it most.

-Spiteful: Don't get on his bad side, James does have a temper. He has always been one to throw silent tantrums, plotting cunning little pranks or harassing moments to embarrass those who cross him. He is relentless when he feels as though he has been wronged in some way. Much of this accounts to his 'bully' sessions he has with the ignorant Ravenclaws, or arrogant plotting Slytherin, as his mind warped it all out. At some point, he turns off the caring protective side, and becomes cold and hallow if much is done to him, even a small thing may set him off.

-Inferiority complex: Did you say competitive? Ohh, yes. That could be a word for it. Much of his parent's love and affection goes towards the second youngest, Lily, since she is the only girl. Not to mention their careful and cautious attitude towards his younger brother Albus, who was placed into Slytherin. They didn't want him feeling like it made him any different, and with his skill at a seeker, and excellent grades, James was obviously a bit jealous. No matter how he tried, it never felt as though he would amount to Lily or Albus, they were perfect replicas of their parents, while James was just that. He was James, just like his grandfather.

Background:

Though he was first born, he never felt as though he held a high place among his siblings. They teased each other, ran about, did things normal children would do. Be it from taking his little sister Lily's new doll and holding it out of reach until she pouted or ran to their parents, or from messing with Albus and going funny faces to make him laugh or giggle. It seemed like he was doing things right, as an older brother, until one day the neighbor's dog jumped the fence into their yard and attacked Lily, shoving her to the ground under it's massive paws. It snapped and growled at her while she screamed in tears, a scared toddler. Their mother and father were talking privately inside with Albus still being too small to fend for himself outside of their careful watch, and there was no time to think, or run to them. He shouted at the dog and lunged forward, tackling it off of her onto the ground where it's teeth tore into his leg and tried to drag him by it. He gripped it's jaw and dug his fingers into the throat of it when it finally released and ran off.

Lily was still in shock, tearing up on the ground when James ran over to her and held her cheeks between his hands, "Lily! Lily-pod look at me," He studied her pale expression as tears ran down her face, bottom lip trembling in fear as she reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck tightly, sobbing into his shirt. "Bruder, bruder, please don't wet it get me, don't wet it eat me, bruder please." She cried louder. In this moment, he felt a strong sense of protection over her, pulling the small girl into his arms and holding her tight to his chest as he stroked her red hair down. "It's okay Lily, it wont hurt you. It's gone, I promise it is gone." He clenched a bit of her hair as her crying died down to quiet whimpers, laying there tear stained against him. He didn't move from that spot in the grass, feeling too strong or scared to move from it, he wasn't sure which.

After a short time, his parents finally came out and found the two, Lily looking as though she'd seen death, and their oldest son bleeding onto the grass from a deep set of jagged marks from the dog's teeth. It was aching badly, but James didn't even notice it, and he paid no attention to the fact the blood didn't stop. He was just holding onto Lily as if her life depended on him not moving her. Ginny and Harry ran to him, muttering things to each other about getting out a kit, and taking Lily inside. He didn't have any of that, he wouldn't even let go of her until their mother gently took her from his arms and hugged him tightly, telling him he did alright and he could let go. So he did, relaxing back as his father worked at patching up his leg with a bit of magic while Albus slept inside. Both Lily and Albus would be too young to remember most of it, Lily may, but it was never brought up again.

He still has a scar set into his leg, pale while and down the muscle of his calf, but he never mentions what it is from passed saying it was 'The Big Bad Wolf.' Over the years, as he and Albus grew up together, he became more competitive with the younger boy, despite being just a few years older. When he got his first broom, and taught Albus to fly, he quickly noticed he was already a much better flyer than himself. Even in school, his family raved to his Aunt Hermione about how intelligent little Albus was, and how creative Lily was. Even Rose, his cousin, was getting better at him with quite a few things. This made him feel lost among the group, doing anything to get noticed, even if it meant acting out now and then with the help of his uncle George on the rare occasion he came to visit them. He never spoke much of his twin brother, or even that he had one, but James knew about him from their old pictures and gear. Even though he never met him, oddly, he still felt grief about him like the rest of his family.

One day when he was relaxing at home with the family, he grew completely bored, tossing a miniature quaffle up an down in his hands. His little sister entered the room with her hands on her hips saying, "You know mom told you not to throw that in the house!" She pouted out her bottom lip. He smirked and tossed it up again without a second thought to push her buttons, "I'm not throwing it, tattle tale, I'm tossing it. See? Tossing it?" He looked to her when the burst of accidental magic suddenly gave it that extra push, practically shooting out of his hands and straight through the window across from them, shattering it to pieces like a rocket. His eyes went wide with the sudden shock as Lily screamed, "I'm telling mom! I'm telling!!" She raced back upstairs as he sighed, he could hear the next wave of punishments coming his way, yet oddly it was only the sound of his father's nearing footsteps descending behind him. The large smile over his father's face bewildered the young ten year old as he waved him over, "Come on, I think we should have a talk over a game of quidditch."

It was after that, that his father explained that he understood he didn't mean to do it. Even telling him about the time he accidently blew up his aunt on evening when he was younger, and another when he set a snake out on his cousin. They bonded over this, and shortly after his 11th birthday, James had gotten his letter from Hogwarts telling he had been accepted there for the next term.

~Year one: Gained a group of friends overly excited to hang out with the 'saviors' son, and made him up to be the overly confident tough guy.

~Year two: Inherited the invisablitiy cloak from his father on his 12th birthday, and has been using it to roam about the halls at night in search of any hell he could raise for the ghosts.

~Year three: Accepted onto the team for Gryffindor Chaser

~Year Four: First fling, second, third.. and so on

~Year Five: Scored second highest in his class for his OWLS

~Year Six: Became known as the 'chick magnet' and gained the bad boy reputation from anyone who had heard about him due to his level of arrogance and harrassment to anyone who crossed him. No one in their right mind had chosen to get on his bad side.

 Pet: Owl
           - Name: Dravin
           - Species: Common Grey Barn Owl
           - Gender: Female

Dravin has been with James since he was ten, his father having gotten him it for his birthday considering how withdrawn he had gotten after his uncle George left with his wife back to France. He has isolated himself much to his room and only left to eat or pull pranks so he wouldn't be forgotten, and his mother began to worry over what was becoming of their son. Albus and Lily had each other, plus several friends, and seemed to be good in their grades. James, he hadn't many friends after his burst of accidental magic. It seemed to act up any time he got a temper in his old school, so many of the friends he used to know began avoiding him in fear, or calling him a freak. So he turned to the company of his new owl Dravin, finding solace around her. She became a protective young bird, nipping at anyone who came near her owner while she was around and trying to hide away in his pocket if he left the room. After his acceptance to the academy, things got better, but Dravin was still protective and cold to anyone other than her master. It even almost attacked Lily once, before James set her straight and helped the bird warm up to her and Albus.
